This manual will walk you through setting up and using Phrasing, so you can start making undeniable progress in all your languages.
What is Phrasing?
Phrasing is a language learning application, deeply based in science. It combines the powers of spaced repetition and language acquisition to result in the most effective & stress-free language learning solution on the market.
Phrasing is a browser based web application. That means it's not in the App Store or Google Play Store. Instead, it means it's accessible from any device with a browser. However, if you are using it on a mobile phone, you can add it to your Home Screen, and it will look, act, and feel like a native application.
Terminology
There are three terms you should be aware of when using Phrasing:
Expressions | Expressions are blocks of text, translated into multiple languages. They can be a few words, up to a few sentences long. |

Extractions | Expressions can be analyzed, broken down, aligned and explained. This process is called "extracting", and it is the action that costs credits to perform. |
Bookmarks | Expressions that have been extracted can be bookmarked to be added to your reviews. If you extract an expression, it will automatically get bookmarked for you |
What does it look like to learn with Phrasing?
Phrasing isn't your traditional language learning application. It does not put together prebuilt courses for you to complete; it requires you to put in a tiny bit of effort and curation up front.
We promise you though that this tiny bit of effort will pay dividends.
That being said, the whole process is deceptively simple:
Step 1. Find expressions you want to learn
These can be quotes from books or movies, lyrics to songs you love, or just AI generated sentences relevant to you. The more emotional your connection to them, the stronger your memories will be!
Step 2. Extract the expressions on Phrasing
Copy and paste these expressions into Phrasing, and click Extract. Phrasing will work it's magic!
Step 3. Learn and review words on Phrasing:
Click on Learn > Clozewords and try to type in the missing word. If you don't know, click reveal. If you don't understand a word, click on it.
Wash, rinse, repeat. It's that easy.
